“My candidacy was successful and I have become one of the members of the Supervisory Board of the Czech Bar Association (ČAK). On Friday, lawyers' LinkedIn feeds were filled with news about the ČAK Assembly, including the results of the elections to its bodies.
Most colleagues wrote about how much they are looking forward to serving on their respective bodies. After the election results were published, I had mixed feelings and, to be honest, I wouldn't call it “looking forward.” I was, and still am, certainly glad that it worked out. On the other hand, it is a whole new sense of responsibility and, to some extent, a step into the unknown.
The Supervisory Board has fairly strong powers. In short, the “routine” ones involve overseeing compliance with the Legal Profession Act and other legal regulations, including the AML Act.
Then there is compliance with the Code of Ethics for Lawyers and other professional regulations. In any case, I can certainly say that I look forward to working with colleagues I know well and less well, and to learning something new, both in general and in relation to the Bar Association. Finally, of course, I thank all 959 colleagues for their votes. I am sure they will forgive me for not naming them individually.”
“Thank you for your trust and support. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone who supported me in the elections to the ČAK Disciplinary Board, as well as those who expressed their support before the Assembly, whether in person or on social media. I greatly value your trust.
I see it not only as a commitment and motivation for further work, but also as recognition of the positions I strive to advance. I thank not only Komora 2.0, but also all colleagues who decided to get actively involved, whether by running as candidates, taking part in the discussion or voting. Every vote and every word of support shows that together we care about the direction of the legal profession.
And last but not least, I congratulate those who were also elected to the ČAK bodies. I look forward to working with you.”
“On Friday, the Bar Assembly elected me to the ČAK Disciplinary Board. Thank you for your trust and support to everyone who expressed it, whether through one of those 865 votes, a message, on social media or in person. I am of course pleased with the result, but I see it above all as a commitment to do the utmost for what I ran for a seat on the Disciplinary Board to achieve.
During my candidacy, I spoke about trust as the fundamental pillar of the lawyer–client relationship. Now I have the opportunity to help strengthen this trust as one of the fundamental guarantees that lawyers' membership in ČAK brings with it.
I look forward to further cooperation both with my colleagues from endors who were also elected to ČAK bodies and with colleagues from the Komora 2.0 group, which, both in the campaign and at the Assembly itself, demonstrated the power of collective cooperation and the will to move things in the right direction.
There is a lot of work ahead of us, but I believe that together we can strengthen trust in the legal profession and contribute to its development in the 21st century.”
