The European Criminal Bar Association (ECBA) is a leading independent organization of criminal defense lawyers that brings together specialists from the member states of the Council of Europe.
Since its founding in 1997, it has focused on protecting the rights of accused and suspected persons, promoting procedural safeguards and developing European criminal law.
ECBA members meet regularly at conferences, take part in working groups and contribute comments on European legislation. The association also intervenes as amicus curiae in proceedings before European courts in cases with implications for human rights and criminal defense.
European Fraud and Compliance Lawyers (EFCL) is a sister organization of ECBA focused on fraud, regulation and compliance. It brings together lawyers specializing in white-collar crime, anti-corruption matters and regulatory proceedings across European jurisdictions.
Membership in both organizations gives endors direct access to a network of specialists in criminal law and compliance in dozens of European countries, up-to-date information on developments in European criminal legislation and case law, and the opportunity to take an active part in professional debate and in commenting on legislative proposals at the European level.
For our clients, this means a stronger cross-border dimension to the criminal defense and compliance advice we provide at endors.
